I started out Theta Pi with a bang, writing the whole of the prologue during the first day of NaNoWriMo, 2013. Today, I started working on Chapter One, getting into the meat of the story at last.
The prologue was necessary to write for a few reasons. For those of you who aren't familiar with Thralls, with my understanding of Vampires, and with the Hemophage world in general, the prologue establishes some fundamentals that helps the rest of the story to follow make sense.
Also, when i first had the idea of writing Theta Pi, and started my plotting and note-taking, it began with Chapter one and ended with an Epilogue. But after a few days of cogitating, I realized that a prologue would also be necessary to give some quick background to the two main characters.
Finally, writing the prologue helped me get into the story even more, and let me grow my comfort of sitting in the minds of a multitude of the characters.
I'm really looking forward to writing Theta Pi, and giving updates about my progress.
The whole of the prologue can be found here. I'll be updating the story three times a week for now. As the month wears on, we'll see how that changes. Since Theta Pi is a NaNo novel, I'll probably keep it free. What better way to introduce new fans to my writing?
I hope you enjoy the story, and the adventures that await you when you settle into the Hemophage Universe.
