NaNoWriMo Update

Day 2 of NaNoWriMo started out a little harder than I thought. Like I said, I have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen in the story without it being too specific as to be stifling of the creativity. Well, today it went somewhere that I didn't even think about it going, opening up another level of this world that I hadn't known, or realized, existed.

Here's an excerpt. Enjoy :)

River frowned. “I don’t accept coin,” he replied, sounding offended. “I am a Bather.” He took a breath, the quick to come anger leaving in a blink of an eye. “Come,” he said softer, his voice taking on a hypnotic lilt too easy to fall into, “allow yourself to relax. Be free.”

He stepped forward, crossing through an invisible barrier separating strangers from family, and then closer still until his bare belly touched Don’el’s. His fingers brushed gently along Don’el’s forearms, moving to guide Don’el’s hands to his hips.

“I see hidden things behind your gaze,” he whispered. “Share with me your needs.”
